Photo: NHL.com The Washington Capitals recalled defenseman Aaron Ness from the AHL’s Hershey Bears while the Bears recalled goaltender Parker Milner from the ECHL’s South Carolina Stingrays, the teams announced on Wednesday evening.

The Hershey Bears started the 80th season in Allentown, Pa., taking on the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. I’m sure it wasn’t the exact start they wanted to get off to, losing to Lehigh 7-2.

Bears Stumble, Fall 7-2 to Phantoms in Opener
