After an emotional day with Chandler Stephenson in Humboldt, Saskatchewan on Friday, the Stanley Cup headed south to Arizona for the weekend, spending Sunday with former Capitals coach Lane Lambert. Lambert will join former Capitals bench boss Barry Trotz with the New York Islanders this season. (Reminder, you can find the latest schedule of dates for Capitals players “day with the Stanley Cup” right here. You can find links to each and every “day with the Stanley Cup” that have already occurred right here.)
From the “it’s a small world” category, Chandler Stephenson (the recipient of the last “day with the Cup” in Saskatoon and Humboldt, Saskatchewan) grew up as the next-door neighbor to former Caps assistant coach Lane Lambert, and today’s “day with the Stanley Cup” recipient. Something in the water in that cul-de-sac. Anyway, let’s get to the festivities.

Taylor Lambert, daughter of Lane, started the day with breakfast from the Cup. Once again, Lucky Charms was the call. Personally, Cap’N Crunch is the only play here.

Lane also decided to tie the knot on this day! Congratulations Annie and Lane!
Private Event, Monterra, Scottsdale, Arizona
Lambert enters the residence like a true champ. As we’ve stated all summer long, tradition has it, you can’t raise the Cup above your head if you haven’t won the Cup. It’s time for Lambo.
Drinking from the coveted chalice was next on the agenda. Traditional methods were utilized at the start, before the patented “Capitals Cup Stand” took over.
Next up, ice cream for the kids!
And another whopping Stanley Cup cake!
