After spending Saturday with Capitals’ General Manager Brian MacLellan in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Sunday with Matt Niskanen in Virginia, Minnesota (population 9,812), the Stanley Cup continued its week in Minnesota on Monday with Jason Serbus, the Capitals Head Athletic Trainer, in Bird Island, Minnesota, population 978. (The latest schedule for Capitals players “day with the Cup” can be found here.
The Cup made its primary public appearance at The Broaster Cafe. As was the case yesterday in Virginia, Minnesota, it appears the entire town made its way to the Cafe for the historic occasion. Some waited in line as long as two hours just for a 10 second visit with Lord Stanley.
