Washington Capitals forward Daniel Sprong told the media that “I feel pretty good. I felt [like] I was given some pretty good chances,” after the team’s first scrimmage of training camp on Thursday. He added that it felt good to get into a scrimmage.

On not having an exhibition season in 2020-21 and not having the opportunities that he and others normally would have in training camp due to COVID-19, Sprong said that “These scrimmages are important for everyone.”

Sprong thinks that “[There is] a great group of guys” in the Capitals’ locker room. He added that the team plays a “fun system,” which “fits my game very well.”
