The Washington Capitals held their first intra-squad scrimmage on Thursday afternoon at MedStar Capitals Iceplex. Team White Blanked Team Red 4-0. The Capitals will hold one more scrimmage on Sunday at 4:30 PM ET.

The Capitals training camp roster was divided into two teams for the first scrimmage, Team Red and Team White. The scrimmage consisted of two 20-minute periods.

The rosters for the scrimmage:

FIRST PERIOD
Team White opened the scoring with a goal from defenseman Cameron Schilling at 13:19 of the first 20-minute half.

The first period would end with Team White leading 1-0. Standouts for the first period included Vitek Vanecek and Cameron Schilling.

SECOND PERIOD
Team Red replaced Ilya Samsonov with Craig Anderson in goal to start the second period. Pheonix Copley replaced Vitek Vanecek in goal for Team White.

Team White stretched their lead to 2-0 with a goal from Trevor van Riemsdyk early in the second frame.

Team White would make it 4-0 with a goal from TJ Oshie late in the second and final frame.

And that would be the final.

Craig Anderson would yield three goals in the final 20-minute period.
