Earlier this week, the Washington Capitals fell to the Columbus Blue Jackets by a score of 5-2 at Capital One Arena. However, it was not a total loss for firefighters from Station 1B of the Arlington Fire Department.
Capitals’ forward Garnet Hathaway donated four tickets to Station 1B firefighters from Arlington Fire Department. In attendance were Captain Matt Dreher and firefighters Jonathan Talley and Justin Conner.
Following the game, the trio was invited to a meet and greet with Hathaway. “The crew really appreciated this since they are all Caps fans and never had any experience like this,” Fire and EMS Captain Justin Tirelli said.

They thank Hathaway for his hospitality and appreciation for first responders. On December 17, Hathaway will be delivering a surprise to the crew at Fire Station 1.
