With Center Evgeny Kuznetsov already out of the Washington Capitals’ lineup for Game 2 of their first round playoff series against the Boston Bruins, and Right Wing T.J. Oshie taking on centering duties as a result, an injury to third-line stalwart Lars Eller was not what Head Coach Peter Laviolette’s team wanted in a toe-to-toe series. Eller left Monday night’s game towards the end of the second period, and did not start the third period.

Eller’s last shift of the game lasted just 11 seconds, and while it is unclear what the ailment might be, it appears as though Eller twisted his leg on a shot on net at the 9:26 mark of the second.

According to the Capitals, Eller is “doubtful” to return for the remainder of play.
