The Washington Capitals’ Nicklas Backstrom, Marcus Johansson and Daniel Winnik joined teammate Justin Williams for a golf outing at the historic “Old Course” in St. Andrews, Scotland this week. The outing was to celebrate Justin Williams’ 1,000th game played in the NHL. Former Capital Mike Richards was also along for the trip.

Daniel Winnik posted a few photos on his Twitter account late in the day on Wednesday.

Justin Williams played his 1,000 NHL game on April 26th, 2016. The Capitals honored Williams with a pre-game ceremony that included a tribute video with clips from his past and current team mates.

The video included comments from Anze Kopitar, Jonathan Quick, Alex Ovechkin and Mike Richards offering him their congratulations. Even Williams’ parents got in on the fun and Mom clearly showed us where Williams gets that wild hair.

But wouldn’t be surprised if Dad’s side of the family contributed to the wild hair, too. (Dad’s mother is Italian and Italians seem to have that dark poufy hair thing going on.)
