Tonight the Washington Capitals honored second line forward Justin Williams for his 1000th career NHL game.
The pre-game ceremonly included a tribute video with clips from his past and current team mates including Anze Kopitar, Jonathan Quick, Alex Ovechkin and Mike Richards offering him their congratulations. Even Williams’ parents got in on the fun and Mom clearly showed us where Williams gets that wild hair.
The center ice ceremony included Capitals owner Ted Leonsis and Jim Gregory the league’s senior vice president of hockey operations who presented Williams, alongside his wife Kelly and children Jackson and Jade, with a commemorative crystal from the NHL. Leonsis presented him with a silver stick and the Ovechkin and Niklas Backstrom, on behalf of his Capitals teammates, presented him with a special two week vacation for two to Scotland.
