The Capitals returned to MedStar Capitals Iceplex Monday morning following a much deserved day off on Sunday. The Capitals will host the Arizona Coyotes tonight at Capital One Arena. Puck drop is set for just after 7:00 PM.
The Caps held their usual game-day morning skate this morning at 10:15. Practice lines indicate Richard Panik will return to the lineup. “Yeah I’m really excited you know it’s been a long road, but finally I am 100 percent and just excited to jump on the running train.”
Ilya Samsonov looks to get the start in goal tonight. If that’s the case, Samsonov could see two games this week, with the Capitals having a back-to-back set on Friday (Montreal) and Saturday ( at Boston).
Caps expected lines vs Arizona:
Ovechkin-Backstrom-Oshie
Vrana-Kuznetsov-Wilson
Stephenson-Eller-Panik*
Leipsic-Dowd-HathawayKempny-Carlson
Orlov-Gudas
Siegenthaler-Jensen*Panik back after missing 10 games being on LTI

Carl Hagelin did not participate in morning skate. Hagelin missed Saturday’s game with an upper body injury. Hagelin is still day to day with an upper body injury, per Reirden.
Travis Boyd also did not participate in morning skate. It looks like he is set to return to Hershey, possibly as early as today.
Travis Boyd is healthy and not skating. The team is evaluating the lineup and a decision is coming on him soon. Basically, what this means is the #Caps are making sure everyone is healthy before taking Boyd (and his cap hit) off to fit Panik back in.
