The Washington Capitals held practice at MedStar Capitals Iceplex on Saturday, and it was a special Kids Day event. Alex Ovechkin appeared with his youngest son, Ilya, and the team welcomed 14-year-old Pascal Lettkemann from Austria to fulfill his Make-A-Wish dream.

After a four-year wait, Pascal Lettkemann traveled from Klagenfurt, Austria, to fulfill his Make-A-Wish dream in Washington. He was greeted by Ovechkin, who surprised him with a personalized jersey and an invitation to skate with the team.

Pascal, a leukemia survivor, impressed players and coaches with his skills and hopes to join the NHL one day.

Despite the delay caused by the pandemic, Pascal and his father are enjoying their time in Washington, grateful for Pascal’s restored health.

Pascal also attended Sunday’s game at Capital One Arena.

Good to know that Ovi has his family in DC with him. Is Sergei in kindergarten? I think he will be 6 this August so should be starting first grade next fall. Illya was not on skates I assume since no photos of him on them. He seems to be more shy than his older brother.

Dubé sent back to Hershey. Disappointing! Was hoping for more. On to the next prospect

Caps wildly oscillating between Almost Pretty Good and Outright $ukk. Kuzy clears waivers and “is expected to report” to Hershey. I’m sure “Nelly” is thrilled to add Kuzy to the Bears’ roster

Lots of Penguins fans jumping out of windows if they lose to Caps on Thursday night, Bring your camera
