Lehigh Valley Phantoms
The Hershey Bears fell to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, 5-3, Wednesday night at the PPL Center in Allentown, PA. The loss moves the Bears record to 20-7-2-0 (42 points) on the season.
The Bears opened the scoring with a goal from Phil Maillet just 26 seconds into the game, but the Phantoms answered with two goals before the midpoint in the period for an early 2-1 lead. The Bears would get a tally from Damien Riat late in the first frame for a 2-2 score at the first intermission.
STARTERS
Pheonix Copley (9-3-1-1, 2.68 GAA, .895 SV%) got the start between the pipes for the visiting Bears. Felix Sandstrom (3-3-2-0, 3.51 GAA, .892 sv%) got the start in goal for the Phantoms. The starting forward lines and defensive pairs for the Bears:

FIRST PERIOD
The Bears opened the scoring just 36 seconds into the contest with a goal from Phil Maillet at 0:24 of the first frame. Matt Moulson and Cameron Schilling had the helpers.
The Phantoms would answer with goals from Linus Hogberg at 4:23 and Chris Mueller at 7:07 to take a 2-1 lead.
The Bears would tie the game with a goal from Damien Riat at 16:33 of the first frame. Brett Leason and Aliskaei Protas had the helpers.

SECOND PERIOD
The Bears would see the Phantoms take the lead on a goal from Tyson Foerster at the 2:02 mark of the second frame, on assists from Cameron York and Cal O’Reilly on the power play with Bears defenseman Cameron Schilling in the box for interference.
The Chocolate and White would see two man-advantages of their own during the period, but failed to convert on either opportunity. However, forward Axel Jonsson-Fjallby would notch his ninth goal of the 2020-21 season on assists from Connor McMichael and Martin Fehervary.

The two teams would head into the second intermission tied at 3-3 and the Bears shorthanded with Mason Morelli in the box for holding.
THIRD PERIOD
The Bears would manage to kill the penalty to Morelli but would see the Phantoms take the lead at the 8:00 mark of play on a goal by Cameron York. The Phantoms would extend their lead to 5-3 on an insurance goal by Cal O’Reilly, who received assists from Foerster and Tyler Fitzgerald.
The Bears would be unable to add to their three goals, falling in regulation.
