The Capitals enjoyed a day-off in Northern California on Sunday following their decisive 5-2 win over the Red Wings in Detroit on Saturday night. The Capitals next face the Sharks in San Jose on Tuesday night. The team held a full practice Monday afternoon in advance of the start of their annual west cost swing. Here’s the latest from the Golden State.
Chandler Stephenson was not on the ice during the team’s practice at SAP Center on Monday morning and could be part of a transaction, according to senior writer Mike Vogel.
Chandler Stephenson will not be on the ice today. Nothing official at this time, but sounds like the #Caps will be making a roster move before tomorrow’s game here in San Jose, and he is part of that transaction.

Carl Hagelin, who is eligible to return from injured reserve tomorrow night against the Sharks, was also a full participant in paractice.
Backstrom and Hagelin both on the ice and no light blue non-contact sweaters in sight. Good chance the #Caps take the ice against the Sharks tomorrow with a fully intact lineup for first time this season.

The addition of Backstrom and Hagelin to the practice ice required the Capitals to pull Stephenson from practice, due to limitations with roster size.
