Evgeny Kuznetsov Leaves Wild Game After Hit By Matt Dumba; T.J. Oshie Drops The Gloves With Dumba

Washington Capitals centerman Evgeny Kuznetsov took a high hit from Minnesota Wild defenseman Matt Dumba early in the third period of Sunday’s game against the Wild. Kuznetsov remained on the ice for a brief period of time, but was eventually able to skate off under his own power, hunched over, favoring his shoulder.

No penalty was called on the play.

The hit caused Capitals winger T.J. Oshie to drop the gloves with Dumba immediately following the hit.

Kuznetsov did not return to the game. The Capitals have yet to provide an official update on his status.

The refs are out of their mind calling those penalties on Osh.

Yes Dumba deserves a suspension for a hit to the head however the league needs to do something about the refs who missed the call. You might miss a holding call but how in the world do you miss a head shot when there are so many cameras? This game reminded me of some years ago when the Caps ere a new team and received no respect from the refs and no benefit of the doubt because they had not earned it yet. It seems in several games this year that the refs have allowed players from other teams to take liberties against the Caps.

What a ridiculous sequence. Missed call, ends up being a Wild power play. Simply pathetic.

Well, s*** serves a purpose, cleansing our bodies of waste, and serving as fertilizer. I’m not sure what purpose Dumbo has.

Interesting someone put “Tom Wilson GIF” up,if it had been him giving hit every one would defend it??? One of first things taught in contact hockey is “DONT ADMIRE OR LOOK AT/FOR YOUR PASS!! Rumba’s career has been made on being a hitter, only part I don’t like was him leaving his feet! It’s Kuzy’s fault not knowing WHO was on the ice!,actually his teammates that came to his “defence” also could’ve yelled “heads up” too!

    • KimRB says:

Yeah, keep rationalizing. It was a hit to the head! If that had been Wilson, he’d have been suspended 10 games before Kuznetsov even hit the ice. Two wrongs don’t make a right
