According to ESPN’s Kevin Weekes, the Edmonton Oilers, New York Rangers, and Washington Capitals are the top three teams on Chicago Blackhawks right-wing Patrick Kane desired trade destination list. He added that the 33-year-old would not accept a trade to the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Kane has one season at $10.5 million remaining on his contract. The Blackhawks will likely have to retain salary in any deal to send Kane out of town to go to any of the three cap-strapped teams.

The three-time Stanley Cup Champion tallied 66 assists (seventh in the NHL) and 92 points (14th) in 78 regular-season games last season.

In 1107 career regular-season games, Kane has notched 430 goals and 1180 points. He has added 52 goals and 132 points in 136 Stanley Cup Playoff games.

Capitals’ top-six right-wing Tom Wilson is expected to be out until December after undergoing a procedure to repair a torn ACL on May 25. The team acquired Connor Brown from the Ottawa Senators on July 13 but a player like Kane would give them a more proven scorer. However, it is unknown whether the team is interested in acquiring Kane.

Doing so could cost a first-round pick, multiple top prospects, and a young NHL player under contract beyond this season. The trade deadline is at 3 PM ET on Friday, March 3.
