Dilly Dilly Fight Night: Brenden Dillon Drops Penguins Teddy Blueger in One-sided Fisticuffs

Not much went right for the Washington Capitals in their 3-0 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday night, just a few nights after clinching a spot in the 2021 Stanley Cup Playoffs. As one might expect, frustrations mounted and Capitals defenseman Brenden Dillon had an opportunity to let some of that go in a very one-sided fight with Penguins forward Teddy Blueger.

While it is unclear what initiated the dropping of the gloves, the odds were not in Blueger’s favor from the word go, with Dillon delivering a number of roundhouse rights to the face of Blueger, whose gloves were not yet off before Dillon began swinging.

Dillon exited the game briefly to the training room to receive repairs on his right hand after the fight, but returned to the game before the end of the third period. Dillon finished the game having played a total of 17:11 on ice, and five hits.
