He’s done it again. Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin scored his 685th goal on Monday night against the Carolina Hurricanes. He has passed forward Teemu Selanne for the 11th most goals in NHL history.

Ovechkin opened the scoring in tonight’s game midway through the first period. The goal would mark his 27th of the season.

Teemu Selanne congratulated Ovechkin as well. “Keep it going and keep having fun,” Selanne said.

Ovechkin wasn’t done though. He would extend the Capitals’ lead 2-0 with a power-play goal just over two minutes left in the first frame. This is Ovechkin’s 139th career multi-goal game, which ties him with Marcel Dionne for fifth-most in league history.
