What If You Could Share Your Thoughts with Your Favorite Capitals?

We’re not kidding when we say NoVa Caps is a worldwide community for Washington Capitals fans. What better way to communicate with the Capitals’ organization and with its players?

Here is your opportunity to tap into the Caps and the Caps nation. Take a moment. Pick up to three of your favorite Capitals or members of the executive management team. Tell them what you think. Share your favorite Caps moment from last year. Encourage or provide your favorite player(s) with some feedback. Offer your suggestions for next season. As always, keep it clean and constructive please.

To help get you started, here are my thoughts on three of my favorites Capitals.

To Alexander Ovechkin: Your place in the hockey’s pantheon is now fully established. You always demonstrated you can play. This past year you demonstrated how you can lead and win. Such talent! Such passion! Such a competitive nature! Next year, consider it your goal to make every team member better. Help them to shine. Make them stars. In doing so, your stature is not diminished one iota. Watch the team and guard against letdown.

To Tom Wilson : [Assuming you are back. God, please make it so]. Anyone who mistakenly thinks of you as “just an enforcer” is sadly mistaken. You have transformed yourself into a highly skilled player. Scoring, assisting, back-checking, shot-blocking, and yes, on occasions, delivering a targeted message to an opponent. I’ve heard it said that the game is changing, and perhaps it is. But I can think of no one better than you in keeping pace with the changes.

To Evgeny Kuznetsov: Let us know that the torch is being passed to a new generation of hockey players. You must be ready to accept that torch. Carry it forward. You made enormous strides this past season. With those strides comes even greater expectations. Do not shrink from this challenge but instead embrace it. Your teammates will respect you. The fans will love you.

  1. To Devante Smith-Pelly: Thank you for staying with the Capitals for another year at a “discounted” rate. In this day and age of going after the almighty dollar it is refreshing to see a professional athlete show his team appreciation instead of hopping on the money train. I hope the DC area appreciates you and you make a ton of loot doing local commercials to supplement your salary. If you get any residuals from jersey sales, I will be contributing by making a #25 DSP jersey my next one!
