According to Sports Business Journal, Carolina Hurricanes fans have been gobbling up tickets for their outdoor tilt with the Capitals on February 18, 2023 at Carter-Finley Stadium. So much so, they have set a record ticket sales for an outdoor game.
According to SBJ, The Hurricanes sold out their original home team allotment of 18,660 tickets and also sold an additional 30,000 to season ticket holders.

The Hurricanes sold out of their original allotment of 18,660 tickets – matching the number of seats in PNC Arena – from the NHL within three hours, general manager Don Waddell said Thursday.
According to WRAL Sports, The team “begged” for more tickets, Waddell said, eventually receiving 30,000 total tickets. The NHL only wanted to give 20,000, Waddell said. Hurricanes’ season-ticket holders have bought all 30,000 tickets.
“Of all the games that the NHL has put on over the last 13 years, it’s the most tickets sold to a season-ticket base of any franchise,” Hurricanes general manager Don Waddell said Thursday.
What isn’t clear is the percentage of the tickets that are in the hands of fans who actually intend on attending the event, as both Ticketmaster (here) and Stubhub (here) have plenty of tickets still available.

Didn’t the first one in buffalo set a record for selling out the entire 70,000 seat stadium in about 30 minutes?

The record is STM fan sales by a singular team
Canes fans had been buying up Stadium Series tickets since Day 1 of their presale to full STH. Canes fans who weren’t STH were getting really concerned. Canes fans had access to tickets long before Caps fans did. And even folks from Navy Federal got dibs on the tickets before Caps STH got access.
I did get tickets but took the morning off from work to do so, just so I could get them when the sale opened up. (If it was getting hard for Canes fans to get tickets, it was worse for Caps fans.)
The game is in Carolina. No one cares how hard it is for CAPS fans to get tickets honestly. It’s all about the Canes… no caps!
