In the only KHL preseason game of the day, Torpedo lost to Dynamo Moscow, 3-1. The preseason game, which was played in four 15-minute periods, also included a shootout at the end, regardless of the score at the end of regulation.

In the shootout, Capitals forward prospect Bogdan Trineyev converted his lone opportunity with nice glove-side wrister.

Trineyev, #88, drafted by the Capitals in the 4th round (#117 overall) of the 2020 NHL entry draft, played left wing on the second line for Moscow Dynamo.

In the 7th minute, Alexander Petunin gave Dynamo the early lead. In the middle of the second period, Petunin scored his second tally of the game, increasing Dynamo’s advantage, 2-0. In the 31st minute, Roman Krikunenko got Torpedo on the board, but Dynamo would answer back in the 36th minute with a goal from Eric O’Dell. The fourth period was scoreless.

Dynamo Moscow now returns to Moscow, where they will continue to prepare for the new season. The team is planning seven preseason games and participation in the traditional Cup of the Mayor of Moscow.

In the first match of the KHL regular season, Dynamo Moscow will meet with Dinamo Minsk on September 3.
