Capitals Select Bogdan Trineyev With 117th Overall Pick At 2020 NHL Draft

The Washington Capitals selected forward Bogdan Trineyev, a native of Voronezh, Russia, with the 117th overall pick in the 2020 NHL Draft, which was held virtually, on Wednesday afternoon. Trineyev, 18, played with the MHL’s Dynamo Moskva last season.

  • Height: 6’3″
  • Weight: 176 pounds
  • Shoots: Right

He recorded 12 goals, 26 points, and a +8 rating in 36 games last season in the MHL. During the MHL Playoffs, Trineyev tallied no points and an even rating in two games. He has four goals, six points, and a +5 rating through six games this season.

“A true power forward with a good offensive toolset. Strong puck mover on the powerplay, but refuses to shoot. Needs to add more muscle to fill himself out.”
