A new attendance record of just over 6,000 was set for the annual Black and White team scrimmage held annually by Brynas IF of the Swedish Hockey League. Thursday night’s huge attendance was aided by the participation of numerous NHL players, including the Washington Capitals’ Nicklas Backstrom and Christian Djoos

The annual tune-up game, consisting of two 20-minute periods, was held at the Gavlerinken Arena just north of Nicklas Backstrom’s hometown of Gavle, Sweden. The White team would be the victors in this year’s scrimmage, winning 6-1.

Other notable NHL players participating in tonight’s scrimmage included Anders Lindbäck, Elias Lindholm, Jakob Silfverberg, Jacob Markström, Mattias Ekholm and Calle Järnkrok.
