Golden Knights Down Capitals 4-1, Tom Wilson Scores Eighth Goal of Season

The Washington Capitals fell to the Vegas Golden Knights by a score of 4-1 at T-Mobile Arena on Saturday to fall to 2-2-0 on their five-game road trip and 12-7-2 (.619 points percentage) overall. They are 11-4-1 in their last 16 games. Goaltender Darcy Kuemper made 32 saves in the loss.

With 3:12 remaining in regulation, Capitals right wing Tom Wilson put home his eighth goal of the season to end Logan Thompson’s shutout bid on a beautiful feed from Dylan Strome.

Standings

Washington stayed three points behind the Carolina Hurricanes for second place in the Metropolitan Division standings with two games in hand. They also remained tied with the New York Islanders and two ahead of the Pittsburgh Penguins with two games in hand on Pittsburgh and three on New York.
