Washington Capitals prospect Kody Clark, drafted by the Capitals in the second round (#47) of this year’s NHL entry draft, scored his first goals of the season on Saturday. Clark’s impressive two-goal outing led the Ottawa 67’s to a 4-3 win over the Barre Colts in Ontario Hockey League action.

Clark’s first tally of the game gave the 67’s an early lead on Saturday. Clark would clean-up some loose change in front of the net for his first goal of the season. (video courtesy of the Ottawa 67’s)

Clark’s second goal of the game would be the eventual game winner for Ottawa. He now has two goals and an assist (3pts) in seven games played so far this season. He has registered 14 shots on goal.

Clark, 18, is the son of former Toronto Maple Leafs tough guy Wendel Clark.

Clark, a right winger, joins fellow Capitals’ prospect Eric Florchuk, who also scored two goals in a game earlier this week (here).

  1. Clifford Keefe says:

I was a big Wendel Clark fan during his Maple Leaf days between ’85 & ’94. He played the game an edginess similar to Rick Tocchet’s during his Philly\Penguin years over the same time period. Kody is three inches taller than his dad, but plays more of a finesse game than Wendell did–at least from what I’ve seen. Can’t wait to see what he does at the NHL level–hopefully in the next year or two…

    Thanks Jon,
    Cliff

I would be very surprised if he ever plays a game in the NHL… he should have gone in the 5th round
