Nathan Walker Returns in Hershey Bears OT Loss to WBS Penguins (Photos)

A night after earning a 4-2 win over the Springfield Thunderbirds, the Hershey Bears fell 2-1 in overtime to their division rival Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, despite a strong performance from goalie Vitek Vanecek. It would’ve been nice to pickup the two points against the Bears’ I-81 foe, but Hershey fans were still excited to welcome our favorite Aussie Nathan Walker back to Chocolatetown.

Check out the full recap to read more about tonight’s matchup and keep scrolling for some photos!

Sill messin’ with the goalies in warmups, as usual.

Awww – welcome back, Walker!

Walker got lots of cheers when he was announced as a starter. Also, can we talk about Lucas FLOWhansen over there. Lucious. (I know you all read these for my terrible jokes).

Walker mixing it up with his friends in WBS that he missed so much.

So, Anthony Peters is the brother of former Hershey Bears Justin Peters, and it’s kinda crazy how much he looks like him in net.

Face-off faces.

Oh, you almost had it. You gotta be quicker than that.

Zach Sill pops one off the WBS goalie’s chest pad.

Hey, how you doing?

Let me high-five your face.
Tyler Graovac celebrates his goal with Wayne Simpson.

Vanecek stops Chris Summers on a breakaway in the final seconds of regulation.

Sill had to come over and give Vitek a little love for that save at the end of the game.

Unfortunately, the Penguins would win it in OT.

Vanecek’s 36-save performance earned him second star honors. I can’t handle his sad face, though. 🙁

We’ll see you in 2018 Bears fans!
