Lineup Changes For Tonight’s Game vs the Blackhawks

With the Capitals about to play a back-to-back set of game’s Friday and Saturday, Barry Trotz has decided to make a few changes to the lineup. 

WASHINGTON
Barry Trotz confirmed that Taylor Chorney will make his first start of the season tonight against the Blackhawks. Nate Schmidt will be the healthy scratch.

Trotz would not say who would be on the Capitals fourth line for tonight’s game against Chicago. Zach Sanford told media he would be in tonight’s game.

Braden Holtby has confirmed he will get the start tonight. Look for Philipp Grubauer to get the start against the Hurricanes tomorrow night in Raleigh. Mike Vogel and John Walton preview tonight’s game in the “Two-Man Advantage:

 

CHICAGO
Blackhawks head coach Joel Quenneville confirmed that Artem Anisimov will not play tonight against the Capitals. Artem Anisimov had an 11-game point streak end in St. Louis on Wednesday night. Anisimov had been on an offensive tear in recent games, which allowed the Blackhawks to go with Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews on the top line.

MORNING SKATE
The Capitals held an optional morning skate today. The only players who did not participate were: TJ Oshie, Brooks Orpik, John Carlson and Matt Niskanen. Rosters for tonight’s game, before scratches:
