The Washington Capitals’ Jason Chimera has been fined $5,000 by the NHL’s Department of Player Safety for butt-ending Philadelphia’s Shayne Gostisbehere.
The fine stemmed from a series of incidents between Jason Chimera and Shayne Gostisbehere during the second period of last nights Caps-Flyers game.

The butt-ending incident occurred following a slashing by Shayne Gostisbehere which was also not caught by the referees. There has been no statement from the league regarding Shayne Gostisbehere’s involvement in the incident.

NEW YORK – Washington Capitals forward Jason Chimera has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for butt-ending Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere during NHL Game No. 1150 in Philadelphia on Wednesday, March 30, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.
The incident occurred at 17:29 of the second period.
The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.

Chimera was totally justified poking that cheap shot SOB in the gut. I am sure Chimmer thought $5k was a good deal for settling the score with that scumbag.
