Sonny Milano Skates In Regular Contact Jersey, Charlie Lindgren Gets The Start: Notes From Capitals Morning Skate

The
Washington Capitals return to action Tuesday night when they host the Montreal Canadiens at Capital One Arena. Here is what you need to know from Tuesday’s optional morning skate.

Sonny Milano was in a regular practice jersey for the first time in nearly two months. Milano has not played since Dec. 10 against the Chicago Blackhawks. Milano is still on injured-reserve with an upper-body injury.

Evgeny Kuznetsov did not participate in the morning skate, as it was announced yesterday that he entered the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program. The Capitals recalled Mike Sgarbossa on Monday and it appears that he will be making his season debut.

Milano, Matthew Phillips, Alex Alexeyev and Ethan Bear participated in the scratches’ skate.

Charlie Lindgren will get the start in goal for Washington.

Spencer Carbery was also given some beer from Beck Malenstyn’s father’s brewery. The annual Capitals mentors trip is this weekend in Florida and Boston.

Puck drop is slated for 7 p.m. EST at Capital One Arena.

That’s 2-0 and not even finished the first hot dog
Isn’t Carbery a GREAT coach? His assssistants are great too

First Caps’ power play was spectacular
    Mitchlove’s defense is extraordinary

Stop the presses! Lindgren made a SAVE! Pad those stats …

Ooops! It’s 3-0! No really, Carbs is GREAT and his staff is too. While we’re at it let’s give substantial pay raises to all the Caps Senior Management

Well it looks like everything that’s not nailed down should be sold off. This is a miserable season.

Hi ANON! Great stuff, the 2023-24 Washington Capitals! Ooooh can I buy some more Season Tickets for next year? Guaranteed Cup Contenders!

Who’s the consensus First Pick in the 2024 NHL Draft? Caps can make a run at him if the Blackhawks keep winning. Might be tough to catch SJS. Only 34 potential losses left on the schedule. Lot’s of “Get Well” games for Caps’ opponents coming up

  5. novafyre says:

According to THN: For years, the NCAA deemed CHL players ineligible because the three leagues that make up the CHL – OHL, WHL and QMJHL – have players in them who have signed professional contracts with NHL teams. It’s not uncommon for a drafted player to sign an entry-level contract and then be assigned to their team in the CHL for a season or two. The NCAA views the CHL as a professional league because of this. NCAA coaches have been discussing whether or not to allow CHL players into U.S. college hockey. What is also to be determined is whether players could only go play for an NCAA team after their CHL players are done or whether they could make the switch at any point.

Hi Novafyre! You do great work. Would rather watch a CHL game than this dogpoop. The Adam Oates Caps were better than this pile of manure. Glen Hanlon’s teams were better as well

Total bummer so far… Team looks lost and listless.

      Great Motivator, this Carbery guy

Dismal NHL performances like this would cost most NHL coaches their job. But in Zero-accountability-Land Washington, no such luck

        • novafyre says:

I still don’t know that it is his fault — I don’t know what he is being allowed to do, what decisions he can make. If the players know that he is only being allowed to be half a coach, team spirit will be killed.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the worst team in the National Hockey League: YOUR Washington Capitals! The Caps are absolutely Dead Last.

Spencer Carbery has “lost the locker room.” Why is he still in charge?
Bryan Murray, Ron Wilson, Bruce Cassidy, Glen Hanlon, Bruce Boudreau and Todd Reirden all got fired because they Lost the Locker room. I don’t care HOW many years are left on this Bozo’s contract. He’s got to go
