Ivan Miroshnichenko Scores In Back-To-Back Playoff Games, Records A Goal And Two Assists On Sunday

Washington Capitals forward prospect Ivan Miroshnichenko is starting to heat up in MHL playoff action this week. The Capitals first round pick in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft scored his second goal in as many games on Sunday. He also added two assists in Omskie Yastreby’s  5-4 win over Tolpar, taking a 2-1 lead in their second round series.

Miroshnichenko’s tally came at 8:54 of the second period. He would receive a pass off the faceoff and hammer a one-timer for the tying score.

It had been a fairly quiet postseason for the Capitals latest first round draft pick. Miroshnichenko had no goals and just three assists in Omskie Yastreby (MHL – Juniors) first round series against Siberskie Snaipery, and no points after one game in their second round series against Tolpar. His scoring drought ended in game 2 on Thursday.

He also took a big hit in the first game of the second round series. There was no penalty called on the play, But he would be ok.

Miroshnichenko now has a two goals and five assists in his first five postseason games. He has started all postseason games at left wing on the second line for Omskie Yastreby.

Overall, the regular Season has been a great success for the 19 year-old. He recorded three goals and one assist in 23 KHL games, three assists in four VHL games played and 10 goals and four assists in 12 games played in the MHL during the regular season.
