Tom Wilson broke Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Casey DeSmith’s shutout bid in the third period of the Washington Capitals’ nationally-televised tilt against their longtime rivals from the Steel City.

With the Capitals trailing 3-0, a pass from Evgeny Kuznetsov led to Wilson putting the puck past DeSmith for his ninth goal of the 2022-23 season and breaking the shutout hopes for Pittsburgh.

The goal marked Wilson’s tenth goal against the Pens in his career, marking the most against any opponent in 10 seasons as an NHLer.

In addition, Wilson has five points in his past four games.
