Marcus Johansson, Tom Wilson And Nic Dowd Practice: Notes From Capitals Stadium Series Practice In Raleigh

The Washington Capitals made their way to Raleigh, North Carolina Thursday night following their 6-3 loss to the Florida Panthers at Capital One Arena. They next face the Carolina Hurricanes Saturday night in the 2023 Stadium Series Game. Puck drop is set for 8PM.

The team held off-ice workouts Friday morning in Raleigh and held their first on-ice practice at Carter-Finley Stadium Friday night at 6PM.

Marcus Johansson, who was dinged-up in last night’s game against the Panthers, fully participated in practice.

Tom Wilson, who has been practicing with the team most of the week, also practiced today.

Nic Dowd (lower body) also participated in today’s practice.

STAT OF THE DAY

Today’s stat of the day takes a look at low danger goals against for all NHL goaltenders that have played more than 500 minutes (about 10 games). Low-danger area shots are generally shots from the perimeter. The stat is normalized per 60.  [Click to enlarge].

Charlie Lindgren currently has the ninth highest rate among all netminders while Darcy Kuemper sits right around the league average of 0.389 LDGA/60.


DOWN ON THE FARM

Ivan Miroshnichenko, who played a pair of game’s for Avangard’s VHL team earlier this week, played for their MHL squad on Friday and recorded a primary assist on their first goal.

The Hershey Bears have a pair of games this weekend against the Checkers in Charlotte, North Carolina. Both games start at 4PM ET on Saturday and Sunday.
