The Washington Capitals underwhelming start to the 2022 calendar year (7-9-2) has seen their odds to win the 2022 Stanley Cup drop in Vegas. The Capitals currently have the 13th-best odds to win the Cup at +2500.
Last summer the Capitals bottomed-out at an eye-popping +3000, but began the season at +2500 and improved to +1900 by the end of November, 2021, the 10th-best odds in the league, following their impressive start to the season.
The Pittsburgh Penguins’ odds have improved the most in the Metropolitan Division, from +3500 in late November, to +1500 today. The Carolina Hurricanes have slightly improved from +1400 to +1200, while the New York Rangers have improved from +3000 to +2200.
The Colorado Avalanche, Florida Panthers, Tampa Bay Lightning, Toronto Maple Leafs and Vegas Knights continue to be the favorites.
Metropolitan Division
The odds to win the Metropolitan Division continue to pretty much mirror the current standings, which is not always the case.
The Hurricanes, Penguins and Rangers odds to win the division have all improved, while the Capitals odd to win the division have dropped significantly.
