People here were saying he’d have to pass thru waivers, but I don’t think he did, since he had already gone thru waivers after training camp. Johansen needed them, because he hasn’t gone thru them yet this year.

I debated whether to look up NHL waiver rules this weekend, or read an advanced physics textbook. I chose the physics book. Easier to understand.

So has Joe been good, bad or in-between? Or as Mr. Spock would say, “Insufficient data, Captain” ?!

Calling all NovaCapsFans statistical analysts and Operations Research experts!
    D. J. Smith just got the axe in Ottawa. Jacques Martin comes back for a Reunion Tour along with Daniel Alfredsson.

I like Alfredsson because he was the first NHL veteran to call-out Cindy Crosby as a whining crybaby. I like Jacques Martin because he has the biggest ears in NHL history

To the Technical Question: Is PIT Mike Sullivan on the Hot Seat? Is he next for dismissal?

Once again it would be interesting to see what Snively could do with a legit opportunity wether it be here or elsewhere like Arizona or Vancouver Chicago Columbus where he got steady every night 3rd line minutes. Snives and E Frank deserve their shot in the bigs here real soon. Too good for AHL

OK Gents, one more time for effect:
Will PIT admit it’s time to cash-in the Sullivan chips?
Will a new coach in PIT be good for our Caps?

Sullivan I believe is second longest tenured coach currently. A week ago Dubas spoke to the press:

“As soon as a team doesn’t reach its potential, it seems that right away the attention shifts to coaching,” Dubas remarked. “Being with him every day and not only seeing his attention to detail on the systems, but also his attention to detail with the players and coaching them individually and personally, I think we’re very fortunate to have Mike,” Dubas affirmed. “And so, do I think that he’s the right person for this job now and far to the future? I absolutely do. So I need to continue to support the coaching staff as best I can and help us get this going in the right direction.”

So I’d say no, no change during the season.

Thanks NovaFyre. Great analysis and info from GM Dubas

It’s good for Sully that PIT eked out a win last night after their 6-0 blowout vs TOR. In NHL many an outstanding coach gets shown the door — even if it ain’t his fault
