The Washington Capitals had another optional morning skate ahead of their pre-Thanksgiving matchup against the Buffalo Sabres. Here is what you need to know from the morning skate.
Capitals head coach Spencer Carbery confirmed that Evgeny Kuznetsov will not play on Wednesday due to illness. Kuznetsov participated in the morning skate, and practiced on Tuesday, and participated in the extra skills session with skills coach Kenny McCudden, along with Lucas Johansen, Martin Fehervary, Matthew Phillips and Charlie Lindgren.

Fehervary skated in a normal jersey for the first time. Carbery says that he is still progressing and will not play.

Darcy Kuemper will get the start in goal. He will face off against Devon Levi. Here are the projected lines for the Sabres.
