Greetings folks! Just a quick note, if you haven’t done so already, please consider subscribing to NoVa Caps posts in the “subscribe” box located in the upper right corner. Thank you!
This is something I’ve been saying here for a while, the team and player buy in and other intangibles that most here don’t appreciate or understand the importance of. There’s too much looking at fancy stats only.
Couldn’t agree more. The fancy stats are only a small portion.
Harrison B what an outstanding summary of the CHURN that is the pre-Draft NHL!
Special thanks for showing those major injuries to the best two D-men on the Florida Panthers team, Montour and Ekblad. It’s amazing they could walk and breathe, let alone play hockey! Explains why FLA pooped out at the very end of the playoffs
Thanks so much! Stay tuned, should be a fun week!
From a prominent NHL internet gossip rag: It’s MO time!
++++= Anthony Mantha – I know, I know. I’m sure a lot of you don’t want to see Mantha back in Detroit. But the Washington Capitals need cap space, and the 28-year-old forward could be on the chopping block. Perhaps Derek Lalonde is the right coach to help Mantha establish himself as a more consistent player. I’d welcome him back if the cost was only a later-round pick. =++++
THW is known garbage and Wolak claims in bio to be a former college hockey player when he maxed out in the ACHA.
It’s as much of a rumor as the Tom Wilson nonsense; it’s silly to take it seriously at all.
DeBrincat is off-the-boards, traded to DET w/ 4-yr contract. Some analysts had the Caps in the hunt to land him
I have no doubt the Caps were in the hunt. But nobody wants our high priced vets so no way we could clear the space needed to sign him. And no doubt GMBM tried but he is handcuffed.
I think the one move (not talked about) that we could possibly pull off is Oshie to Seattle a a hometown guy and veteran locker room leader. But without being able to move Mantha, I’d rather just keep TJ as well.
Just an ugly situation we can’t get out of right now.
I’m happy about this DeBrincat can take his “change hockey culture” crap to Detroit.
I’m looking at all the various prospect rankings for the ’23 draft from the last several months and The Hockey Writers (whoever they are) had Leonard, Cristall, and Cam Allen in their top 32 (Allen at 32).
