Evgeny Kuznetsov Participates In Morning Skate In Regular (Full-Contact) Jersey

The Capitals held their gameday morning skate at 10:30 this morning at MedStar Capitals Iceplex in advance of their tilt with the Columbus Blue Jackets tonight at Capital One Arena. Evgeny Kuznetsov, who was injured in the Capitals last game against the Minnesota Wild, was a full participant in the team’s morning skate.

Kuznetsov took a high hit from Minnesota Wild defenseman Matt Dumba early in the third period of Sunday’s 5-3 loss to the Wild. Kuznetsov remained on the ice for a brief period of time, but was eventually able to skate off under his own power, hunched over, favoring his shoulder.

No penalty was called on the play. The hit caused Capitals winger T.J. Oshie to drop the gloves with Dumba immediately following the hit.

Kuznetsov did not return to the game.
