“Peace on earth, and goodwill to all men”. A traditional holiday saying and spirit for this time of the year, except for a three-hour stretch in Hershey on Saturday night. The Bears would waste little time getting into two impressive altercations in the first period of Saturday night’s 5-2 win over the Binghamton Devils at Giant Center.
First up, Mason Mitchell. Mitchell pummeled Viktor Loov with one of the biggest hits of the season, so far. After Mitchell steamrolled Loov, he continued on to find the nearest Devil, and dropped the gloves with Jacob MacDonald at 3:02 into the contest.
Next up, Connor Hobbs. This was Hobbs’ second game back in the lineup after being out for more than a month with a broken wrist. Hobbs was itching in his first game back at Giant Center. He didn’t disappoint.
According to “Festivus” guidelines, “airing of grievances” shall take place on December 23rd. It’s good to see the Bears honoring this tradition. We’re assuming the Festivus aluminum pole was in the team’s dressing room.
The Bears are off until Wednesday when they visit the Bridgeport Soundtigers in Connecticut. Puck drop is 7:00 PM.
