Philipp Grubauer’s Latest Bucket is a Beauty

Goalie mask artist David Gunnarsson has released his latest creation for Capitals’ goalie Philipp Grubauer, and it’s a beauty.

Gunnarssson released photos and a video of the new bucket on his Instagram account early Saturday night. Gunnarsson wrote about the latest mask for Grubauer in the post:

Welcome to the 7th chapter of Philipp Grubauer’s mask art saga. Every new mask I create for every goalie is totally unique, made in only one version and for only one person, the goalie. Every new mask gets its own unique name, and the design is locked to only the owner of the mask, and it will never be replicated.

Every new mask is not just a painting, it is a story, told chapter by chapter, creating the story of the goaltender. It is such an awesome feeling and honor to work side by side with a goalie for many, many years and evolve and create the mask art saga. A saga to be remembered. Grubi’s latest chapter has the same ingredients as his previous chapters, so it really feels like a genuine Caps and Grubi mask. But it is created in a new way, here we have also used textile FX and sketch FX. And the closer you come the more details you will discover and the mask transforms in front of your eyes..

Here is the short video released by Gunnarsson:

Gunnarsson has been working with both Braden Holtby and Philipp Grubauer (along with many other NHL goalies) for quite a few years. We can see why the Caps goalies love his work. Well done, David (Again!)
