Alex Ovechkin won't be the lone representative of the Washington Capitals appearing in this year's edition of the charity showcase, an event that unites standouts from the NHL with their counterparts in the KHL to benefit a worthy cause.
On Wednesday, the exhibition's official site published a complete rundown of the participating skaters, coaching staff, and legends, with Capitals forward Aliaksei Protas figuring among those expected to dress. Tom Wilson once quipped that, all of last season, Protas had served as Ovechkin's personal driver. Throughout his playing days, Protas has logged minutes in both circuits, which includes a year spent with Dinamo Minsk.
Rounding out the former Washington contingent are Dmitry Orlov plus Dmitrij Jaškin. Behind the bench you'll find Viktor Kozlov, with the front-office posts handled by Ilya Kovalchuk alongside Sergei Fedorov.
Also lacing up are league standouts Evgeni Malkin plus Kirill Kaprizov, joined by a duo off the title-winning Carolina side: Andrei Svechnikov together with Alexander Nikishin.
The goalie Ovechkin scored on while setting the NHL's career goals record, Ilya Sorokin, rounds out the participants for the event.

This year's game is set for July 25 at St. Petersburg's SKA Arena. In a wrinkle for this edition, the two leagues' contingents won't square off head-to-head. Rather, the rosters of Team Sergachev and Team Panarin get assembled by way of a draft. A year ago, the NHL group toppled its KHL counterparts 15-3.
The promotional spot Ovechkin shot to hype the event is worth a look.
In the 'Match of the Year' promo, Ovechkin teases his still-undecided NHL plans and ribs Wayne Gretzky for sitting second on the all-time goals list
