WHL names Terik Parascak its top performer for the week as he climbs to No. 2 among the circuit's postseason scorers

Following two dazzling postseason performances for Prince George, Terik Parascak has drawn praise from the WHL.

The young forward collected the weekly top-player nod after a six-point eruption — including four goals plus a pair of assists — over two outings against Penticton. His spring postseason production now totals 14 points across eight games (with a seven-goal, seven-assist split), placing him runner-up across the whole circuit; only Brock Souch, his linemate, sits ahead with 15.

Asked about it Monday, the Cougars forward said it felt good and acknowledged a measure of individual recognition, but underscored that what genuinely matters is winning away from home, and that he was simply pleased to have played a role in those results.

Now into the second postseason round, Prince George reached this point by ousting Spokane in an opening best-of-seven that stretched to six contests. The club leads Penticton two games to none, with the third tilt of that series set for a Tuesday-evening date on Cougars ice.

When the WHL's regular schedule wrapped, Parascak placed 16th on the scoring chart, having amassed a 33-goal, 46-assist line for 79 total points over 61 appearances. He topped his own club offensively too — marking the first occasion across three campaigns in Prince George that he has finished atop the team in scoring.

At 19, the winger debuted at the AHL level a year ago with Hershey, and he is now skating through his last junior season. Should that club reach the postseason while Prince George bows out ahead of them, the expectation is that Parascak will once again suit up in Hershey this spring.

A transfer accord linking the NHL with the CHL kept him from suiting up in the minors throughout the current year, so the plan calls for him to spend the whole of the upcoming season with the Bears — unless he earns a roster spot in Washington during camp this fall.
