With peak bloom only a couple of weeks out, Washington’s NHL club has rolled out the newest version of its springtime cherry-themed specialty sweater.
Once more, the artwork comes from Taylor Kampa Olson, the DC-based artist behind TKO Paintings. Set on a black base, the jersey carries a Capitol Dome crest dressed in a floral motif, finished with touches of pale pink and blue.

A complete set of these floral specialty sweaters, every one autographed by members of the roster, is headed to the auction block, with proceeds going to benefit MSE Foundation. Bidding gets underway at noon on the 18th of March and closes out at 3 pm two days before month’s end, on the 27th. Signed pucks carrying the same springtime branding will join the lots, alongside a TKO-painted Tom Wilson piece that Wilson himself has signed.
Anyone who grabs the dedicated Cherry Blossom Night tickets for that meeting with Ottawa on the 18th will walk away with a matching branded tumbler.

The federal Park Service, which oversees the national parks, has put out its forecast, with the blossoms expected to reach their peak somewhere in the window from March 29 through April 1.
