Hershey unveils a fresh alternate sweater modeled on Washington's vintage 'Screaming Eagle' look

It has now been 20 seasons since the AHL club from Hershey first tied itself to Washington's NHL franchise. Marking that two-decade bond, the team has introduced a commemorative uniform built around the "Screaming Eagle" look — precisely what the Caps wore back in 2005-06, the same campaign a rookie by the name of Alex Ovechkin showed up and the alliance was reestablished.

Allow us to introduce their newest creation, the "Screaming Bear."

Rendered in cream, the design depicts a growling bear taking a swipe with one paw at quarry below it. A diagonal sash also crosses the front, displaying the squad's name (BEARS), while a shoulder emblem nods to the Capitol Dome insignia of the Capitals as a salute to that retro Washington look.

Study the secondary crest closely and you'll spot understated salutes to the 20 years the two organizations have been linked, among them a set of six stars representing both the five Calder titles and the single championship at the NHL level that the pair of franchises have earned.

Through a promotional video, Hershey cast the rollout as an answer to what supporters wanted, hinting that the fan base requested it and the organization came through.

The squad intends to suit up in the uniform four separate times across the year. Things kick off November 16 of 2025, with a second outing slated for December 12. The club then revives it January 3 in 2026 before a final showing arrives on March 15.

What's your take on the look?
