Washington Capitals Come Back, Down New York Rangers, 3-2 (OT); Alex Ovechkin Nine Goals Away From Tying Wayne Gretzky; Tom Wilson Scores OT Winner

The Washington Capitals beat the New York Rangers by a score of 3-2 in overtime at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night to improve to 40-14-8 (.710 points percentage) this season. Captain Alex Ovechkin scored his 885th career NHL goal and now needs only nine to tie Wayne Gretzky’s NHL record. Goaltender Charlie Lindgren made 14 saves in the win.
