Evgeny Kuznetsov Placed In Player Assistance Program; Max Pacioretty Participates In Washington Capitals’ Practice In Regular Jersey

The Washington Capitals returned from their bye week on Monday for their practice at MedStar Capitals Iceplex. The team will  on Tuesday (7 PM ET, Monumental Sports Network in-market, ESPN+ out-of-market). Here is a list of news from the team and across the NHL on Monday.

  • C Evgeny Kuznetsov missed practice (personal reasons)
    • He will receive care from NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program and will be out indefinitely
      • C Michael Sgarbossa was recalled from AHL’s Hershey Bears
  • RW Tom Wilson wore an aviator visor after playing a few games in a full cage before the bye week
  • LW Sonny Milano, who has not played since December 10 due to an upper-body injury, remained in a non-contact jersey
  • LW Max Pacioretty, who left Washington’s 5-4 overtime loss to the Dallas Stars on January 27 with a lower-body injury, participated in a regular jersey

  • New Jersey Devils Cs Michael McLeod/Nolan Foote, Philadelphia Flyers G Carter Hart, Calgary Flames C Dillon Dube, Ottawa Senators LW Alex Formenton all charged with sexual assault in 2018 Canada World Junior Championships case
    • all players from that team (including Colorado Avalanche D Cale Makar, St. Louis Blues C Robert Thomas) cannot participate at the upcoming World Championships or Winter Olympics
  • Winnipeg Jets C Mark Schiefele (missed six games with a lower-body injury) will return on Tuesday at Pittsburgh Penguins
  • New Jersey C Jack Hughes (been out since January 5 with an upper-body injury) practiced in a non-contact jersey and could return this week
