A day after the conclusion rookie camp, training camp for the 2023-24 season will open but that will likely be off-ice and physical testing. Thursday, September 21 will likely be the first day of on-ice practice.
The Capitals will open their preseason schedule on Sunday, September 24 vs. the Buffalo Sabres and regular-season slate on Friday, October 13 against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
