The Washington Capitals announced prior to Thursday’s game against the Montreal Canadiens at Bell Centre (7 PM ET, NBC Sports Washington in-market, ESPN+ out-of-market) that left-wing Anthony Mantha will miss the contest with a lower-body injury.
The team will dress just 17 skaters to allow for a recall from AHL Hershey for Saturday’s game against the Florida Panthers using the salary cap emergency rule.

Mantha has recorded 11 goals and 27 points in 67 games this season.
Both Washington and Montreal will miss the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Washington has five games left starting on Thursday.
