After returning to the Washington Capitals’ lineup following recovery from ACL surgery, right wing Tom Wilson found himself out once more with a lower-body injury suffered on January 22. In his first game back, coincidentally the Capitals’ 2023 Stadium Series matchup against the Carolina Hurricanes, Wilson found himself on the scoreboard.

With the Caps down 4-0 in the third period against the ‘Canes, Wilson potted his third goal of the 2022-23 season at  the 10:32 mark, assisted by Sonny Milano and Martin Fehervary.

The goal marks Wilson’s second point in three career outdoor games (1G,1A). The former first-round pick has not played since January 22, and was a game-time decision prior to tonight’s game. In nine games this season, Wilson has recorded three goals and an assist.
