Lars Eller Becomes Leader in Games Played By Danish-born NHL Players With Appearance in 2023 Stadium Series Game

Washington Capitals Center Lars Eller became the all-time leader in Games Played among Danish-born NHLers, securing the top spot in appearances by participating in the Caps’ 2023 Stadium Series game against the Carolina Hurricanes.

Eller, who was a first-round pick of the St. Louis Blues in 2007, has played 926 games in the NHL, surpassing Frans Nielsen, with whom he was tied.

Eller has played 484 of his career games (52.3%) in a Capitals sweater, and is in his seventh season in the District; he has recorded 87 Goals and 208 Points in that span, and was a crucial component of the Caps’ 2018 Stanley Cup championship, scoring the game-winning goal in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final.
