Preview: Capitals Hit Las Vegas On Saturday Night

The Washington Capitals make their lone visit to see the Vegas Golden Knights on Saturday night for their final meeting of the season and fourth game back in Sin City since winning their first Stanley Cup in franchise history on June 7, 2018.

However, Washington has never won a regular-season game in Vegas (0-3-1) and dropped three straight against them (0-1-2), including a 3-2 overtime loss in the nation’s capital despite leading twice on November 1. Washington: continue three-game Western Conference road trip after opening it with a 4-0 win over the Arizona Coyotes on Thursday, stretch where they play four straight against the West and six of last eight on the road before NHL All-Star Break

Vegas: end season-long seven-game homestand (2-4-0), start set of back-to-backs with a visit to Arizona on the slate for Sunday night 22 hours after puck drop at T-Mobile Arena on Saturday


Washington: 25-17-6/.583 points percentage – fourth in Metropolitan Division (fifth in points percentage), seventh in Eastern Conference (eighth); 12-9-3 on road, 10th in NHL (have won nine of last 10 away from home)

Vegas: 28-16-2/.630 points percentage – second in Pacific Division, fourth in Western Conference; 13-13-0 at home (15th)


Washington: has won two of their last three but is 3-4-0 since season-long nine-game point-streak (7-0-2) ended

Vegas: has dropped last three games and four of last five in regulation after 3-2 loss to Detroit Red Wings on Thursday, is 15-14-2 (T-21st) after 13-2-0 start
