Very Minor Tweaks To Capitals Jerseys For The 2021-22 Season

After last season’s unveiling of two new uniforms, not much is on the radar as far as new jerseys for the Capitals this season. There are only a few minor tweaks, most notably to the lettering, for this season.

One change that’s big in scope but subtle in execution is the introduction of a new raised-embroidery technique on jersey crests. The league and Adidas are simply calling it “dimensional embroidery,” and it appears to be similar to puff embroidery, which is commonly used for MLB cap logos.

The hockey stick, puck and stars on the Caps’ jersey have all been enhanced by the new dimensional embroidery:

So, not much of a change – certainly not enough to rush out an buy a new sweater. Hopefully we see on new design in the near future.
